Easy Black Bean Burger Recipe
Recipe by: YumYucky.com
Recipe type: Vegetarian / Low Fat
Cuisine: Burger
Prep time:  10 mins
Cook time:  4 mins
Total time:  14 mins
Serves: Up to 9 4-inch patties, or 6-7 thicker patties

Ingredients
  • 3 cans Goya black beans (15-oz size)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 eggs
  • 2¼ cups seasoned panko breadcrumbs
  • Butter & olive oil for pan frying.
  • Spices:
  • ¾ tsp Salt
  • ¾ tsp Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • Optional But Recommended Spices:
  • ½ tsp Smoked Paprika
  • ½ tsp Cumin
Instructions
  1. Dice onions and set aside.
  2. Drain beans but DO NOT rinse.
  3. Mash & smash beans, then add onions and spices.
  4. Taste your mixture to be sure you’re satisfied with flavor profile BEFORE adding the eggs.
  5. Add eggs & stir thoroughly.
  6. Slowly add breadcrumbs until the recommended consistency is reached. The mix should be able to form a patty that holds together but is not too dry. It will be a bit sticky before cooking.
  7. Add half butter, half olive oil to pan. Cook your burger a few minutes on each side until nicely browned.
  8. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy.

Don’t forget to add a nice, soft bun. No dried up, crumbling stale buns are allowed. But, seriously, you can still make this even without a bun. Lightly toast up two slices of bread and you’re all set. Now dig into this black bean burger, for goodness sake. Go make it right now!

lol. Ya, all black bean burgers are not created equal. I was hesitant about this but we’ve made them 4 times already. This particular black bean recipe is a winner.

I love it when you talk about farts.
I love burgers, but I’m not so picky about what the are. I don’t need them to be beef if they have mustard, ketchup, and extra pickles. DELIGHT!

I’m all about the raw onions on my burger. It’s darn shame I forgot to add my onions. Massive failure.
