If McDonald’s once gave me food poisoning, and Taco Bell did twice, then why the heck would I start eating fast food again after so many years? My Tuesday evening schedule is totally bonkers. Matthew and I are running the kids around from 5:30 until 9pm while Gracie has her tumbling lesson and Marcus plays basketball. We can either eat on the run or morph into a family of malnourished Sasquatch.
While I will never re-conform to my previous ways of the greasy burgers and gut-busting extra large sodas, Chick-fil-A is making it possible to enjoy a fast food meal with no guilt, courtesy of their delicious salads. The salads are simply divine. And ya, I do order fries on the side.
My stomachs cry out for the Asian Salad with Avocado Lime dressing (opposed the using the Honey Sesame dressing). It’s a bonus that they put chicken on top. For the first time ever I can go beastmode on my morning workout while actually looking forward to a fast food meal every Tuesday night. Every salad I’ve had there is always fresh. And if you’ve got the calories to spare, I suggest you try the Chick-fil-A Peppermint milkshake at least once. It’s big enough to share. Gracie let me have some…
As for the kids, they do love the Chick-fil-A sammiches. I’m totally okay with that because real meat is being used, not some processed “meat-like product” nonsense.
There are other places you can lurk to grab a salad on the go. I’ve done that plenty but always ended up disappointed. Chick-fil-A is seriously doing that thang riiiight. So go have yourself a salad for goodness sake!
It looks yummy, Josie. I’ll have to remember to give this a try.
Absolutely. You should do it!
NOOOoooooo, Do not support Chick-Fil_A dear one! Are you aware that the head of the company is an extremely right wing, conservative, discriminatory leader of dark forces? I know you are discussing nutritional reasons to consider them, but for social and political reasons, I will never share a dime of my money with the company. That is unless I want to support homophobia, sexism, racism, and fear mongering. PLEASE look into the company history a teeny bit before you snap up salads there again.
Hi Kymberly. I do understand their history but it doesn’t bother me. Why? Because I also have history. I grew up raised in the home of Caucasian racist grandmother from Austria who came up during the Nazi era. She publicly spewed hatred toward the Jewish and called me and other dark family members niggers like it was her job to do so. She also had 2 gay sons (my uncles whom I love dearly to this day)– they “came out” in a time when it wasn’t popular. Growing up around this, I could either choose to let the other’s hate consume me and get me all worked up about it, or just go about living my life and enjoy the proverbial salad. It was something I had to learn to do from a very young age. The ironic thing about this is that I forgive my grandmother and hope she’s resting well in peace. Unfortunately, based on the way she lived her life, I’m not really certain she is finding her rest. In the end, people will have to answer for their actions and the conditions of their inner heart.
I appreciate this comment!!!! and like you I eat at chick-fila when I want to regardless of the owner’s views. They do make a good salad and I can’t help but eat the fries.
Hey nylse, thanks for stopping by. And a big ole’ YESSSS to the fries!!!
You could write a book. I consider that just the preview. Go ahead and write a book, and I’ll look forward to reading it.
I agree with you on this topic. Are any of us serving as the judge or jury to try the alleged wrongdoer(s) for the purported “crimes,” or are any of us competent investigators who can determine the exact nature of the “political views”?
And can anyone have a different opinion than anyone else in this society anymore?
grapes recently posted..How do you use your phone?
Sorry for food poisoning! Ick! I don’t eat fast food much either but if I had one of these places near me, I would! Chick-fil-A seems to make people very happy!
Yup. I can see it now. Pictures of Scarlet and Des eating at the Chick-fil-A. Maybe someday soon.
I hate to say but .. Alexandra…. I am with her although I know why you say it is a better fast food…
I’m convinced that the ignorance of people in this world cannot be escaped. We are crossing paths with bigots and racists and phobes of all kinds unawares every day. So I may as well just go ahead and enjoy my salad.
A delicious salad sounds like a great thing to be able to grab on the go, thanks for the review!
My son loves Chick-Fil-A. I had a sandwich there with him a few weeks ago and it was DEE-licious. We talked about the politics of the owner, but he said, “Mom, sometimes chicken is just chicken.” That’s how he sees it anyway …
I agree with your son. I’m not letting politics get in the way of me having a good meal.
I love Chick Fil A their customer service rocks even more than their food and their food is good too. I love love love their salads and eat it at least twice a week along with their soups in the winter. I also love their kids meal which I get with a large lemonade all the time.
Oh yes. Their customer service is the best ever. Glad to hear you’ve been enjoying their healthy salads! I’ll have to give their soups a try.
We have one just down the street!!! Unfortunately, they cook all their stuff in peanut oil, and we are allergic….. Yep, even to the oil….. I wish they would use something else besides peanut so we could try it…:-))
