Because you never know when you’ll need the strength to drag a deceased Sasquatch carcass into your kitchen for meal preparation. This kind of fitness conditioning just might come in handy. Dragging, pulling and towing the ‘bells!
The Workout: Although Sasquatch stew is very important, Yard Pulls won’t just strengthen you for large hauls; it’ll speak to your booty, legs and arms. Fatty parts will also be melted as your heart rate gets pumped up.
About The Kettlebells: I got mine from Dick’s Sporting Goods. If you’re going to be dragging ‘bells around the yard, get them wherever you wish. Just make sure they’re cast iron kettlebells — not the ones with the vinyl coating that could get tore up fast on the ground outside. Cast iron, on the other hand, is pretty much invincible.
About The Towing Rope: I refused to pay a ridiculous premium for those Crossfit Battle Ropes they sell on the Interwebz (this is the cheapest one I could find). Instead, I took time to research best prices on basic manila ropes and scored one on Ebay for $25. Hopefully you can find one there. My rope is 1-inch in diameter and 24-feet long.
Woohoo! Yum Yucky has reached 400 subscribers on YouTube! Thank you SO MUCH for watching my videos. XO!
Girl, you should open up YumYucky’s Backyard Crossfit. Get all the neighbors in shape and charge ’em $100 a month. π

now Im singing (sadly for real) MY KETTLEBELL BRINGS ALL THE BOYS TO THE YARD…

Grrrrrr… Miz stole my thunder: It’s MY kettlebell that brings all the boys to the yard. Mine, I tell you. MINE!
It’s all good Jack, so long as somebody brings some boyz to the yard, this Chocolate Momma will be happy.
You are hard-core!!! Dang- pulling 60 pounds around like that?! Nice!

I would really love to be pulling around more kettlebell weight, but the heaver the ‘bell, the more expensive. I think the next weight up will cost me close to $100. sheesh!
Hmmm, I’m thinking an old suit case full of 100 lbs of rice might do it. The suit case though can’t be slidable so it’d have to be duct taped on the outside or something. π Much cheaper than another kettle bell.
Wow — and i thought i was good to be able to lay sod!
please come lay some sod over here. We have a lawn guy, but every time he comes over, the lawn is more tore up (whoops!). They’ll probably be a “frustration surcharge” on the next bill.
Amazing! You looked so fierce yanking those thingy’s around. LOL. Loved it. Not sure if I’ll be yanking those around my yard but I’d love to try it. I can’t help but think the landlord will get pissed as I rip up grass.
You are a rocking animal & showing peeps it can be done at home!!!!!
comment luv issues again. π

hey Jody. Are you putting the “http” before your web URL when you leave a comment? I didn’t know if you were missing that part or if luv was giving some other problem.
This is definitely Backyard CrossFit! I’m going to give this workout a try but will be using big old tires instead. Might roll the tires or flip it on the way back like in World Strongest Man. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great idea for a home workout. Problem is I live in a city and have no grass haha. I could take my weights to the park and check out the guys playing football at the same idea (light bulb moment)

So cool! I love your work out videos. I am looking for ways to exercise at home, so I don’t have to buy a gym membership again. Your work outs at home inspire me to try them myself. Thanks! So fun, too. π
