If you leased a flame thrower to melt your fatty parts, please take it back to Renty World right now. There are better options, my friend, and they’re all available from natural sources. I decided to get all scientific and researchy on you today. Please be impressed as I present to you 4 Natural Fat Burners for Weight Loss…
1. CAPSAICIN: This is the compound found in hot peppers that gives it their fiery quality. It makes stuff hot & spicy, but nowhere near as hot & spicy as the hip thrusting Latina dance moves I do behind closed doors. Capsaicin causes thermogensis (an increase in body temperature) and is thought to cause your body to shift gears from carbohydrate oxidation into fat oxidation. The compound also contributes to a feeling of fullness as you fro-down on a meal, which obviously leads to reduced lip-smacking during food intake.
Capsaicin is also used in certain pharmaceutical and medical treatments (through ointments and other dermal applications) to treat pain and reduce inflammation. It’s also an animal deterrent and the active ingredient in pepper spray (mace). In studies involving capsaicin’s affect on cancer, it was found to shrink cancer tumors without affecting the body’s healthy tissue. “The capsaicin kills these cancer cells by triggering the mitochondria in the cells to undergo apoptosis, or cell-suicide” (source). Isn’t it lovely?
2. RASPBERRY KETONES: Raspberry ketones have long been used in the cosmetic industry for aromatic purposes, and in the food industry as an additive for color. Harvesting natural ketones is costly, leading the compound to typically be synthesized for much cheaper. To date, there have been no human trials involving the study of raspberry ketones and weight loss. However, in studies involving rats and also in test tubes, raspberry ketones were found to burn fat, block fat, and breakdown fat through the process of lipolysis.
You would have to gnaw on a tremendous amount raspberries (buckets full) to experience the anti-obesity effects from ketones. This is the reason high milligram doses of Raspberry Ketone supplements are hot on the market. Unfortunately, proper dosing is a shot in the dark due to lack of human trials. There have also been rumblings by consumers about the quality of the ketones supplements from brand to brand. I read through a ton of Raspberry Ketone Supplement Reviews. There were a handful of consumers accusing certain companies of posting fake reviews to increase positive ratings of their product. Some people swear by ketones, but the jury is still out for others. I personally find the rat studies pretty interesting.
3. VITAMIN D: I recently looked into the fitness regimens and dietary practices of Fitness/Figure Models (the kind that compete on stage). I’m such a curious soul, aren’t I? What I didn’t expect to learn was that many of these chicks take a Vitamin D supplement as part of their fat burning, contest prep plan. Very interesting! I had to find out why.
There are countless studies on Vitamin D and weight loss, linking a deficiency in the vitamin to obesity. Low levels of Vitamin D are associated with hormonal imbalances that lead to weight gain. A recent study by University of Minnesota “found that people with higher levels of vitamin D in their bodies while on low-calorie diets may lose more weight—especially in their midsections.”
Primary production of Vitamin D comes through exposure to the sun. It’s found only in a short list of foods, including fatty fish, eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese, mushrooms exposed to ultraviolet lights, and fortified cereals. Vitamin D synthesis takes place within the body as your skin absorbs the ultraviolet B (UVB) rays. As little as 15-30 minutes (depending on your skin complexion) of full body exposure is needed for your body to produce large quantities of vitamin D. This vitamin also contributes to more effective absorption of calcium by your body. When outdoors, adequate absorption of Vitamin D from sunshine is achieved before a person will become tan or sunburn.
If you’re considering which Vitamin D brand to buy, consider Nature Made. I once paid $20 for a consumer report to find out which brand of vitamins were the best quality. Nature Made came out on top. Get some sunshine and be sure to follow proper dosing guidelines for Vitamin D.
4. GREEN COFFEE BEAN: This is the raw form of coffee. Green coffee bean contains high levels of the antioxidant chlorogenic acid, which is mostly destroyed once coffee is roasted. Green coffee bean extract is typically the best way to experience the benefits of chlorogenic acid, because drinking green coffee is said to be an experience of pure nastiness.
Studies in both humans and animals point to weight loss benefits of the chlorogenic acid found in green coffee bean extract, namely: slows the release of glucose (sugar) into the bloodstream after a meal, encourages increased metabolism by supporting the activity of fat burning enzymes, and fat blocking properties by inhibiting of enzymes involved in fat synthesis.
I haven’t yet looked into which green coffee bean extract brands are the best, but be aware that any reputable supplier of the extract should have an independent Certificate of Analysis available for your review.
So there’s your 4 natural fat burners! I stumbled across a supplement that contains 3 out of 4 of the fat burners detailed above. It’s is called Nite-Burn. HOWEVER! (yes, I am yelling), supplements of this kind are pretty taboo, even frowned upon, in the healthy weight loss community. Nite-Burn is also fairly new and lacks adequate customers reviews & ratings. No, I have not tried Nite-Burn and cannot attest to its effectiveness or side effects. I simply found it interesting that a product containing raspberry ketone, green coffee bean and vitamin D even existed.
Please do your own research on top of all the info I’ve presented. Make a good decision for yourself and keep on burning the fat, baby!

Thanks for sharing. There are so many natural substances that can assist with weight loss. I regularly put hot peppers or cayenne pepper on everything, even in water, lol. A bit extreme but it’s necessary. I also advocate for Vitamin B as well to boost energy.

A friend and I tried the raspberry ketones a few years ago – I wasn’t really a fan and I didn’t notice any changes.
Maybe I should check into the others – Vitamin D for sure!!!

This is a great list! I know that some people frown on supplements to aid in weight loss, I have found that they have really helped me keep my energy levels up and eating in check. I had great success with one that contained a couple you mentioned-green coffee bean and raspberry. It also had vitamin bs, chromium, and other natural ingredients. I agree with another reader about grapefruit and PURE grapefruit juice.
I’m glad I discovered your blog! Good stuff!
I need to look into chromium. I keep hearing about it but have yet to really learn about it. Will defiinitley do that. Thanks for stopping by!
Great article on fat burners! In my clinic we utilize some of those, but a couple of REALLY effective fat busters are B-12 shots and L-Carnitine supplements. The dosage should be discussed with a trained professional, but I have seen amazing results in myself, and my clients with those. Side effects are more brain clarity, fat cell size reduction, better sleep, and more energy… I highly recommend them.
