OMGeeeee. Raw Honey!

Unheated. Unfiltered. Nothing removed. You must get your claws on some raw honey.

raw honey1

You won’t find this stuff in the regular grocery store. I got mine at the Amish farmer’s market.

But do not fret! You can haz yours, too. I stumbled upon theย Honey Locator website (run by the National Honey Board). The site helps you locate not only raw honey in your surrounding area, but also the suppliers that have specialty honeys, like whipped, organic, kosher, and even honey combs.

As for raw honey, the texture is grainy, but melts down nice and smooth, and blends well. Raw honey is especially delicious in a hot cup of tea.

Cinnamon & Honey Natural Remedy: I recently became very interested in the benefits of cinnamon and honey together. Every now and then, I take 1 teaspoon of raw honey and sprinkle with a generous amount of cinnamon. Then I devour it. NOM! Not only is it tasty, but it does the body good. There’s also some talk that the cinnamon & honey combo has weight loss benefits, but the jury is still out on that one.

I will bet you a gazillion-billion dollars (because I’m rich, beyotch) that if you try raw honey you will never want that golden stuff they sell in the plastic bear at the grocery story. Keep your eyeballs peeled back and on the lookout for raw honey. M’kay?

Ps. I confess, dammit! I’m not really rich. Somebody give me a loan so I can buy me some desserts. Anyone? … anyone?

((All I hear is crickets.))

We used to get honey from a bee keeper who was local to us when I was a kid. It was filtered, but not like the stuff in the bear form the store. Still a little cloudy and when its made from orange blossom pollen- OMG! Amazing!

Says there are no raw honey dealers in my state. Surprised since we have lots of local honey suppliers. It’s probably something else that’s illegal around here (like raw milk).

Barbara, actually I believe in most states you can legally get raw milk by owning a share of the animal producing it- try looking into a farm share program in your area. ๐Ÿ™‚ I know that’s an option in CA and we have some pretty strict regulations concerning raw milk.

I get raw honey at a national food chain called Natural Grocers. Though I am not eating honey now, it is there…if I want to.

OMG I love this post of yours. I started buying and eating raw honey because I found a local producer and the price was half that of buying from the store. I drink a cup of tea a day, and was going through lots of honey.

Now I buy raw honey from the producer, and I buy it in bigger containers. I save money, and I LOVVVVEEE the taste! There is nothing better. ummm

    thanks

I don’t know that I’ve ever had “raw” honey but I definitely like the local stuff I buy at farmer’s markets. That’s so much tastier than the stuff from the stores!
