Sweaty Butt Weekend

These chicks are kinda lazy. Their butts are not sweaty.

Everyone has some kind of sign that their workout was kick azz. For me? It’s a sweaty butt AND excess funk that makes the child-spawns run for cover.

May is almost over. If you didn’t quite do fitness the way you intended this month, there’s no reason why you can’t finish the month out strong.

This weekend, I challenge to you to the Sweaty Butt Workout of 300 fast-paced squats. It’ll be quick, because we’ve got some Memorial Day frolicking to do, so just bust it out real fast and then you’ll be done, right?

I did 300 squats as part of my Wednesday workout with Bodyrock.Tv, but I changed it up a bit to increase the funk juice:

Alternate between regular squats (100), plie squats (100) and one-legged squats (50 on each leg). Try to do these all in a row without stopping (it took me 12 minutes), but do pause for a break if you must and do not sacrifice good form. Go as fast as you can or as slow as you need to.

It was unbelievable how much of a full body workout this turned out to be. The sweaty butt was in full force.

Happy butt sweating, yo!

I’m up for the challenge but can I substitute jump squats for one-legged squats, I’m balance challenged. 🙂

Balance challenged!? That’s why you be doing them, girl! Balance practice! Well can you at least give me 10 one-legged on each side before switching to jumps? 😉

This post and idea makes me hate you and love you all at the same time.
I’m gonna do what I can and squat away.
Btw, I have bad knees and what I have found with squats is if you do them truly correctly and slowly at first, your leg and butt and core muscles are doing all the work so no impact on your knees.
But, hello, I am not a doctor so please don’t listen to a word I say. Just sayin’ ;P

Funny thing is, my legs didn’t even get sore. I was my abs and back muscles that got it best. Go figure.
