Please don’t tell me I gotta climb this mountain without you. It’s Mt. Tamalpais in California (an extinct volcano), and I’m climbing this very mountain from all the way over here in my Delaware living room.
It all started when Deb challenged her readers to a ClimbAThon up Mt. Tam via the Mountain Climbers exercise that you do on the floor without any equipment. Deb explained that Mt. Tam is 2,571-feet high, so when me and YOU each commit to 2,571 total Mountain Climbers steps (172 per day, or 9 sets of 20) completed during the month of April, we will have made it to the top of the Mountain together!
Mountain Climbers are indeed a challenge, but you can’t deny the cardio and full body strength workout. It’s killer-amazing, so if you are transforming yourself for the Bikini Body Challenge, then get on the bandwagon with Deb’s CimbAThon challenge. Go to her blog to get all the details.
And now! It’s time for some
fake azz riveting details of my virtual climb up Mt. Tam:
- Day 1: After doing some Yoga at the bottom of Mt. Tam, I was ready to start my climb. Today was good. I climbed in sets of 50, 60, 40, etc., until I reached 202 steps up the mountain. Then I set up camp for the day by pitching my tent so I could rest and search for fresh berries in the morning.
- Day 2: My 4-hour
mall frenzysearch for fresh berries left me exhausted. By the time 10:30pm rolled around, I still hadn’t ascended up the mountain any further. Whoops! I will do double time tomorrow.
- Day 3: There was a rabid brood of squirrels stalking me and closing in fast, so I hightailed it up that mountain for 505 steps to escape becoming minced squirrel food. Whew! That was close. But I do thank those squirrel bastards pushing me to make up for lost ground.
As of Day 3, I am 707-feet (steps) up Mt. Tam with 1,864 more Mountain Climber steps to go before I reach the top. It’s a beautiful view from up here and I’m really sore now, so I’ll be reducing the number of steps I take over the next few days. Too bad I’ll have to camp out on a bed of leaves and twigs since those squirrels stole my sleeping bag.
But I still love this challenge! If you don’t know Deb already, follow her now! She’s @debroby on Twittah.
There’s 3 more months left in the Bikini Body Challenge. The ClimbAThon is a great way to make some awesome progress.
