I freaking LOVE this!!! I’m on a roll with the creation of delectable recipes for you to chomp on. So sharpen the claws of your teeth and get ready to delight in the Strawberry Banana-Graham Frozen Treat with Chocolate Morsels.
It’s a non-threat to your waistline. Unless, of course, you’re super greedy and eat 35 mega-servings or some other ridiculous amount.
Ingredients (makes up to 4 servings)
- 1 ripe banana, sliced into pieces (the riper your fruit, the sweeter your final creation will be)
- 5-6 strawberries, sliced
- 1-4 graham cracker sheets (for 1-4 people served)
- 1 packet Stevia (optional)
- Chocolate chip morsels (optional, but fun)
1. Place fresh, sliced bananas and strawberries onto plastic wrap atop a plate.
2. Then place second layer of plastic wrap to cover completely.
3. Place plate in freezer to freeze fruit until frozen (duh). Several hours or overnight if desired.
4. Add frozen fruit slices to blender with 1/2 packet of Stevia (optional) and blenderize on “crush ice” setting. The mixture will look granulated.
5. Scoop entire mixture into bowl, then transfer your desired portion onto one-half of a graham cracker.
6. Then top with other graham-half to create a sammich.
7. Press chocolate morsels onto all 4 sides of your treat and enjoy immediately.
8. Or! Scoop the mixture into a cup, sprinkle morsels and use graham crackers as edible spoons.
Just like real ice cream, your frozen treat will begin to “melt” if not eaten right away, so please active your chomping jaws in a timely fashion for the most satisfying results.
This thing is sooo versatile. Make it for anytime snacking, kids’ treats, party treats, etc, etc. It goes on and on. It’s truly one helluva tasty flavor combination. ENJOY!
Sarcastic Types of Peoples Do Not Deserve This Treat

Behold the delectable chocolate covered peanuts that I bought for Health-hater Husband.
He loves these things, but doesn’t get them very often. Yet he’s been an obedient spouse, such as serving me coffee while I couch-azz, cracking my back in 35 different places (ahhh!), carrying laundry baskets, and lowering the decibels on his loud mouth so I can hear the TV.
So I brought him home the choco-peanuts. ‘Twasn’t that nice of me?
But then I think back to the conversation we recently had. Did this man’s sarcasm deserve choco-peanuts?
Him: How’s it feel to be married to someone as good looking as me?
Me: ((eyeroll)) Ummm… it’s an honor and a privilege.
Him: Yeah. That’s what I thought. And just for that you can ride in the front seat of the car tomorrow.
Well ya don’t say! Next time, instead of choco-peanuts, he’ll get those Chupacabra Biscuits and the crumbs at the bottom of a bag of Scooby Snacks.
Put It In Your Food Trap! BelVita Breakfast Biscuits, Chobani Apple Cinnamon and Tropical Shakeology

Directions: Open up your food trap wide and start shoveling these foods inside….
BelVita Breakfast Biscuits: Perhaps I’ve broken the golden rule of health snobbery by loving a biscuit in a box? But momma want a biscuit. And this one is delicious.
I give Nabisco props for making a breakfast-cookie-snack-thingy that has NO high fructose corny-ness, NO hydrogenated oils and NO artificial flavors or sweeteners. The main ingredients are rolled oats and rye while flaunting 19 grams of whole grain. It’s light ‘n flaky with a delicate crunch and fabulous texture from the grains. Chewing on 4 biscuits has less sugar than a standard bowl of cereal, and the taste is very much a cross between a bowl of oatmeal and an oatmeal cookie.
Serving size: 4 biscuits, Cal. 230, Fat Cal. 80, Total Fat 8g, Sat. Fat 0.5, Sodium 220mg, Carbs 35mg, Fiber 3g, Sugars 11g, Protein 4g
Chobani Apple Cinnamon Greek Yogurt: This one has officially de-throned my beloved Peach as my favorite Chobani flavor. Apple Cinnamon Chobani tastes just like apple pie with its apple chunks and visible flecks of cinnamon. But let me tell ya something: If you grab your own cinnamon spice and go heavy-handed by adding even more, your taste buds will be belly flipping with extra happiness. Did you know cinnamon has anti-microbial benefits AND helps control blood sugar? Yep, check out all the cinnamon facts, baby.
My next move is to bake up some fresh, warm apple chunks and pour Chobani Apple Cinnamon over top for one helluva healthy nighttime snack. Ahhh. That’s gonna be really glaawsome (glamorous + awesome).
Serving size: 1 container, Cal. 140, Fat Cal. 0, Sat. Fat 0g, Sodium 80mg, Carbs 20g, Fiber 1g, Sugars 19g, Protein 14g
Tropical Shakeology: After a very long wait, Tropical flavor just launched today, meeting the demands of vegans, vegetarians and all other forms of greedy humans interested in gulping down its tropical nutrition.
I’m impatiently waiting for my first order to arrive (because patience is highly overdone), but here’s Beachbody’s description in the meantime:
“Just take one sip, and its sweet, luscious strawberry flavor along with notes of tropical fruits such as pineapple, banana, and papaya will whisk you away to paradise. You’ll quickly discover that the delicate flavor is easy to customize with your favorite fruits. For instance, it combines deliciously with bananas, blueberries, and coconut water. Wouldn’t that flavor combination be a great way to start your day?”
You can read a ton’s more about Shakeology on my Beachbody site: www.Shakeology.com/YumYucky.
Happy food-trapping everybody! It’s just the proper thing to do.

It doesn’t matter much who else is in your corner to cheer you on. Just make sure that YOU are. Oh, and maybe the dude in the pic. Should I send him over to corner you?
Stay motivated, my friends. And don’t you EVER give up.
Rah-rah-raaaaahhhhh!

Home Workout Essentials: Rodney Yee is My Top Yoga Pick
February 12th, 2012 • 15 Comments | Leave a Comment »
I’ve tried a lot of Yoga DVDs. Too many to count. I have a useless stack of ‘em buried in the basement where I make the husband sleep. Some of the DVDs were a let down. Others left me wanting. And then there’s the Yoga flicks that put me in contorted, uncomfortable poses and made me feel like a Yoga loser.
But I am not a loser, dammit.
I was about to abandon Yoga until I discovered that cool Asian dude, Rodney Yee. He brought out the best in me with Yoga benefits that are truly priceless. You can’t buy this stuff:
- Mental clarity and lower stress levels.
- The feeling of a weight off my shoulders
- Faster “rest day” recovery.
- Restorative ability to aid in injury.
My top Yoga DVD pick is Rodney’s Ultimate Power Yoga. This DVD comes with 5 workouts, ranging from 15-20 minutes long. Do one, or combine a few for a longer Yoga experience.
Greedy Kid #2′s Ultimate Power Experience:
My kid used Workout 1 (Power Foundation) to recover from a painful hip injury during his first season of Cross Country in his 9th grade year. As a new distance runner, the season was pretty rough on his body. Greedy Kid’s hip would howl and not even the fancy Orthopaedic doctor’s advice made it any better. The dang kid was still in pain under medical care and could barely walk normally at times, so I forced asked him to try the DVD (he was brand new to Yoga).
When his running was manageable, he would come home after practice and jump right into Power Foundation. The DVD’s restorative magic went to work and Kid #2 made a complete recovery over the course of a few weeks. Go figure.
My Own Ultimate Power Experience:
In 2002 I was hit by a car while crossing the street and came out with a back injury. Physical therapy was a bitch. I was repeatedly cold-packed, heat-packed, back-cracked, electrical muscle stimulated, and way more. The infliction of treatment was so bad one day that I almost passed out. They had to pull out the smelling salt to bring me back to full consciousness.
In addition to my doctor (a rehab specialist), I was treated for nearly 9 months by two different Chiropractors and two different physical therapists before medical benefits ran out. I was definitely doing better than on day one of the accident, yet still in a level of pain that caused daily discomfort and sadness…for 9 long years. Remember, that accident happened in 2002, but I didn’t find Rodney’s Yoga, and Workout 5 (Ultimate Power Restoration), until early 2011.
Workout 5 focuses on a series of forward bends and elongated stretches that restored my back and prevents the pain from returning. If I stay away from Yoga far too long, I sometimes start whining when I feel small inklings of pain and tightness return, but one session of Workout 5 is enough to get me into maintenance mode so I can enjoy a pain-free back.
I also made big time progress with general flexibility of my entire body that “athletic-type stretching” never delivered.
Here are some quick sample clips from the DVD to get a feel for Rodney Yee’s awesome style and instruction.
If you haven’t tried Yoga yet, go get on the bandwagon. And if Rodney’s Ultimate Power Yoga isn’t part of your own Home Workout Essentials, it’s time to seriously consider it.
Have a fabulous week, you guys. And don’t forget to Yogaaaaa !!!
