Ohhh, my dear friends. What in the world is going on? When we hear of oil spills, it’s usually out in the middle of an ocean somewhere. But not anymore.
On Friday, 3/29/13, the “ExxonMobil Pegasus pipeline, which brings Canadian crude oil from Illinois to Texas, ruptured, leaking at least 80,000 gallons of oil into the Central Arkansas town of Mayflower.” (source) This video says it all…
I’m in shock. Imagine if this happened in your neighborhood. I just…can’t. My heart goes out to this Arkansas community. They’ve gotta be freaking out right now. What will this spill mean for the health & wellness of the town?
On a side note, does this spill mean that prices are gonna rise at the pump? Every time a pipeline breaks we pay for it in one way or another. Are these “breaks” orchestrated by design? Perhaps that’s an outrageous idea. Or maybe not?
Oil spills. Big Pharma. Monsanto now legally above the law, etc, etc…. I am so very sad for the good people of this country. We are its victims.
