Team Gorgonzola Has Got It Goin’ On!

“Mullet Mabel loves the Gorgonzola”

This is a public service announcement featuring Mabel, the Team Gorgonzola queen bee herself. It doesn’t matter if you deep-inhale the stuff or sniff it lightly. Those Gorgonzola fumes are guaranteed to shrivel up your nostril hairs. But once this stank cheese meets your taste buds, its delectable goodness cannot be denied.

If you’re kinda new to the fitness game, you might be making boring salads right now or not like them very much. But it’s time to change all that! Salad-chewing is vital to your sexiness ratio. Salad will make your skin glow. It’ll help slim your waistline faster, and it’ll do all kind of healthiness to the inside of body that you don’t even realize is internally going on.

Okay?

So the key to good salad-eatin’ is to make the flavors pop, and to do that you gotta go beyond iceberg lettuce and tomato slices. Make that salad your b!tch. Make the flavors come alive with some of these ingredient-enhancement suggestions:

  • Gorgonzola cheese or Feta
  • Red Onions
  • Chickpeas or beans
  • Cranberries
  • Walnuts and other nuts & seeds
  • Hard boiled egg pieces
  • Beans
  • Avocado
  • Apples or pears
  • Snap peas or Edamame

…and the list goes on and on, so get creative!

Yet no salad is complete without the tasty dressings. That’s why I asked my Yum Yucky peeps on Twitter and Facebook to tell me about their favorite salad dressings. Here are the brands that were mentioned over and over:

  • Annie’s Organic Dressings
  • Walden Farms
  • Bolthouse Farms
  • Newman’s Own
  • Ken’s Steakhouse Light
  • Do It Yourself dressings (like some of these)

Greedy Kid #2 wouldn’t consent to the pic unless I paid him $5.

Got some tasty salad tips? All of need us to know about it, so share in the comments!

Important Notice: If you’d like to become a member of Team Gorgonzola, you must change into the mullet hair-do and send in your credit card numbers (all of them) so I can charge you the discounted team fee of $1,995 per month. It’s a bargain, so everybody wins.

WOW, you are certifiable (and so is kid #2)…I have a new found love for stank cheeses, feta, gorgonzola and blue cheese crumbles. Weird that they used to freak me out.  I love that a little tiny bit goes a loooong way so you don’t have to rack up the calories for all that flavah.

After years of literally turning up my nose, I took a chance with feet cheese, err, I mean feta cheese, and found out it wasn’t too bad. In fact, I kinda liked it. Now I add it to salads all the time, or an egg white scramble with some spinach & grape tomatoes. Mmmm …

You really know how to rock a mullet!
You know, I don’t think I’ve ever tried gorgonzola cheese. I’m about to go grocery shopping; if they’ve got it for a decent price, I’m going to try it.

Hello, my dragonmamma! When you gets to the store, Gorgonzola containers are usually small and sell for around $4-$5. But they last a long time because you only need a little bit of Grogon-crumbles, because the flavor is uber-powerful.

@Josie, They didn’t have plain old gorgonzola, but they did have a creamy tomato sauce with gorgonzola in it, so I thought I’d give that a whirl. I’ll try it tomorrow with some steamed veggies.

dragonmamma/naomi Reply:

@dragonmamma/naomi,The sauce was yummy but not particularly stinky, so I think the gorgonzola content must be minimal. I’ll keep my eyes open for the real thing.

I’ve never heard of gorgonzola sauce until you told me. Know I’m gonna hafta track that down. I do hope you find the cheese. It’s usually in the fancy cheese section – not in dairy section.

That pic is toooooooooooooo much!

I actually don’t eat salads anymore cause I always loved the dressing more than the lettuce so I just eat veggies & that works for me! :-)

Yum. I love gorgonzola cheese. I also love annie’s dressings too. As well as most of the other things you mentioned for salads, except not the red onions. I like those on burgers a lot, but in salads theyre just too oniony. Also they make your breath stink lol. I like plain goat cheese or feta a lot, and strawberries too. Especially with spinach leaves. Yummy. I made a plain garden salad for my cheesemaking class and they were all so awed over it, just because I also added avocados! I guess little things make a difference!

Best line ever: “ Make that salad your b!tch.”

Props to the kid for being bribable. A kid can make a lot of money that way.

My son thinks gorgonazola is a scam: “They just tell you it’s supposed to smell that way so you will buy their bad cheese.”

I like it though.

I add leftover “crisp-steamed” veggies to my salad, like broccoli and green beans.

Don’t add all your toppings to the same salad or you might as well have a steak with gorgonzola sauce (an actual item at our fav french restaurant).

It’s the long lost Cyrus sister! The bottom pic looks like a celebrity mug shot or something. LOL I shaved my mullett in the 80′s. No going back to that party-do.

As for salad, I’m a sucka for bacon, and Caesar dressing. Yum!

Daaaaang that be some wicked mullet LOL. Thank you for the salad suggestions bc I’m about as uncreative as they come when it comes to food. Need ideas force-fed. That is all.

Next time I buy gorgonzola, I’m wearing a mullet.
