YumJared Sugar Sweet Free Day and Nu Naturals Giveaway
June 22nd, 2010 • 41 Comments | Leave a Comment »
This is a Yum Yucky and The Anti-Jared team charity event in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation! We are challenging you to take control of the Sugar Beast and go sugarless AND artificial sweetener-free for one day. All pledged proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Association in support of a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
No popping M&Ms like they’re happy pills. No gnawing your way to bottom of the ice cream bowl. And no drinking the sugary sludge that is soda. But I’m not trying to be bossy. These commands that I’m commanding are totally voluntary.
.
Yum Yucky and TheAntiJared would love for you to go sugar free for one day and make a pledge of any amount (through Paypal) to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. That would be the ideal thing. But since I’m not into ordering you around, you can handle this Sugar Sweet Free Day anyway you choose, like…
- Do nothing and ignore this post.
- Go 100% sweet free and make a pledge.
- Go 100% sweet free and don’t make a pledge.
- Be greedy with your sweets and make a pledge anyway.
- Cut back on your sweets and make a pledge.
See that. No pressure at all, and everyone who leaves a comment will be entered to win a Nu Naturals prize pack. No donation required. Four winners will be chosen here AND on TheAntiJared’s blog – that’s 8 winners in all!
NuNaturals is the maker of the most awesome Stevia around. I am a loyal customer and use it almost every day. Each of the four prize packs will consist of:
One (1) box of NuStevia White Stevia Powder 50 ct. box AND one (1) bottle of Vanilla Stevia Liquid 2 oz.
Pledges will be accepted from now until June 30th. Winners of the Giveaway to be announced on July 1st. Thank you for joining the cause!
P.S. I put my donation in my husband’s name (Matthew Maurer) with hallucinations that maybe he’ll go sugar free. Just maybe?
.
6/23/10 Awesome Update: Revive My Blog has committed to match donations up to $250! That turns your $1 pledge into $2, and your $10 pledge into $20 (until we hit the $250 mark). See how that works? Special thanks to Revive My Blog (they did MizFit’s redesign)!

I’ll definitely go sugar free for a day. Are there rules? Does it have to be a certain day? Do fake sugars count?

No sweets is ideal, but even less sweets is great (including artificial sweeteners). Pick your day, baby!

I go sugar free every day – I haven’t tried this Stevia product yet either. I am a big fan of other Stevia products though. It sure seems to be the best alternative.

I’ve been looking for an excuse to go sugar free anyway, so I’ll do it for a good cause. I can do it for one day, just so long as that day isn’t Saturday – mai tais and cupcakes for my birthday. You’re invited if you want to make the trip down to VA

I am in for the challenge and will see just how long I can go past Day 1. I did this for three weeks a couple of months ago and I was amazed how much refined sugar is added to process and even “natural” foods.

Love this! As a type II diabetic, I know the challenges that sugar can cause – and our kids deserve all the help we can give them through contributions to the JDRF – I’m in for the pledge and for going sugar-free! Thanks for calling attention to this excellent cause!

OK, I’m in! My pledge has been posted.
I’ve already been reducing my sugar some of the time. I won’t give it up completely (I run marathons so I can eat cupcakes!), but one day sounds fine to me!

I think this is a great cause. BUT since I don’t think me giving up sweets and fake sweetener will help those kids, I chose choice 4 out of 5. after all, I made strawberry shortcake last nite and I still have some more to eat at home tonite for dessert! I can quit any time I want to, I just don’t want to. Lol. This is just a comment and not an entry in the contest ( I really don’t like stevia).
