Tasting! Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Brownie Bites

Like a rabid unicorn running wild through Central Park, these things are very dangerous. So this is what you must do:

…..install a super jet engine onto the trunk of your grocery cart, then activate the high-speed setting for rapid acceleration past the Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Brownie Bites.

If you don’t do what I say you will most definitely be trapped. I will NOT be held responsible for your excess teeth chompin’ and calorie poppin’.

Due to foreseen projections of delectable greediness, I will-won’t-maybe-will be keeping these around. The chocolate shell is like a Klondike, but thicker and better quality. The inner brownie is so soft, moist, and chewy, it will put you in a trance. All of this bewilderment is only amplified by the lovely fudgy center that also comes in caramel.

The refrigerated package touts a Brownie Bite that is “fully baked and ready to eat”. And I’m way past ready.

I only recommend these for veteran hungry people who are in control of their eating and know when to stop the chewing. If you are still practicing discipline and self-control…. just say NO.

REACTIONS FROM THE TASTE TEST CREW

Health-hater Husband: Nice chocolate coating and chewiness. The fudge center is great.

Greedy Kid #1: It’s very chocolately. That’s not my thing, but it’s definitely NOT cheap quality.

Greedy Kid #2: I like that it’s creamy when you bite into it.

Greedy Kid #3: It’s good, but I don’t want anymore. It’s got too much flavor. <–???

Yum UP! to: Rabid unicorns. Because they need love too.

Yuck Down to: Gut-growing Brownie Bite poppin’. Be careful, people.

I was wondering about these when I saw them in the store. I thought they looked like they would be easy to eat the whole bag in one sitting so I avoided them.

yep, that’s the evil unicorn part.

What!?! They’re pre-baked and ready to eat!

The pre-heating, mixing, baking, waiting and cooling makes baked brownies taste so much sweeter.  It’s like that first cup of water after a run.

If Pillsbury does all the baking for us, I won’t be able to see the Pillsbury Doughboy and poke at his tummy to make him laugh.

4 pts for 3 doesn’t sound tooooo bad for a treat, but I’d have to make sure the rest were hidden from me. Lol

I can already see that I need to avoid these. And yet, now I’m so tempted…

I always find things here that I don’t even know about. It’s bad when it’s chocolate.

I had a coupon…picked them up…looked at them…looked at me…then my kids…put them back on the shelf! Nope this is a life style change…they will NOT be in it!! =)

Josie Reply:

I am jealous that you had a coupon. First bag I bought, I forgot to refrigerate and had to throw out & buy another package. So I basically spent almost $8.00 just to get a bite of these.

Wow! Can’t wait for work to be over so I can jump on my Rabid Unicorn and ride as fast as I can to find these. Great thing about riding a Rabid Unicorn to the store – people get out of your way!! :)

I do love good chocolate, but mine has to be in sauce form…heated…over Bryer’s or Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla! Yeah, that’s probably why I’ve lost only 3 pounds in 6 weeks.

SkippyMom June 25th, 2010 at 9:41

You had me at caramel. YAY for low sodium – at least they have something healthy going on ;D

Looks like major danger. I will steer clear.

So you need the Super Jet Engine installed on your grocery cart? I offer installation services for $1,995.

444 Reply:

@Josie, the truth is that I make enough of this kind of stuff in my own kitchen. Don’t tell Mr. 444, but the kids and I made a giant tray and cut them into giant brownies, then I wrapped them individually in waxed paper and ziploc bags and we stuffed them into 1. an old sugar-free freezer pops box and 2. hid under an old bag of coffee he’d never look at, in the freezer. (I hid those even from the kids, for myself, so the kids would not know if I broke the rule you’ll hear about next)

He’s on a major diet now, and it’s mean to tempt him. So we all have the “one brownie per day rule” (which I broke the other day) and he just thinks there’s an old box of nasty frozen treats in the freezer that everyone forgot about, and he never looks in it.

Schwing!

Holy moly chocolate. I would have zero self control if those were in my casa.

hehe…They were giving these as samples at Wal-Mart today. I bought some and they are gone. Eek! They were TOO good. Stupid impulse buys…will never go on sample day again. jeez lol

Haha I like how Greedy Kid #1 was assessing the non-cheap quality of the brownies.

[Reply]

Laura Jane June 25th, 2010 at 19:48

Yeah, I’ll definitely need to get the cart with the jet engine to whisk me past those! Bite size is the MOST dangerous for me. I think “oh just one. just a few calories” I hate to imagine how quickly these would disappear from my house and it wouldn’t be my husband eating them.

[Reply]

merri June 25th, 2010 at 19:51

For some reason, these don’t look that good to me. I think I prefer my brownies warm and fresh from the oven (maybe even some ice cream on top).

South Beach Steve June 25th, 2010 at 20:20

These look really good to me. I’ll take merri’s share! :-)

What have you done to GreedKid #3 that he thinks these have too much flavor???? Have you been feeding that poor kid vegetables again? Poor child!

Grammy Allen June 22nd, 2011 at 12:23

I LOVE the idea of installing a super jet engine in the TRUNK of my shopping cart. In fact, I had to read those instructions twice to make sure I had it correct. I imagine it would work for the entire cookie aisle, if necessary. Thanks for the laughs!

I wandered onto your site by accident, but I’ve bookmarked it so I can find it again.

yumyucky Reply:

Heeeey Grammy! Yes, and happen to do those jet engine installations for the low low price of $3,995. C’mon! You NEED this. (thanks for bookmarking. hehe)
