"Tasting!" Duncan Hines Whole Grain Muffins

“Huh? Where’s the muffins?”
Yeah right. Why ask silly questions as if you don’t already know the answer? You know darn well they went into my Food Trap to be churned by gastric juices. That’s where Duncan Hines Whole Grain Blueberry Muffins belong.
I ate one, two, (maybe) three muffins. I almost lost control, so I sent out a Twitter plea for some quick muffin therapy and received many virtual slaps of the muffin out of my mouth. One Twitterer even yelled at me in all CAPS (how rude). So I conformed.
The emphasis is on 100% whole grains. I can tell it’s the real deal, because these muffins have the same awesome whole grain aroma that comes from the amazing Ronzoni 7-Grain Pasta Blend. But no, they don’t taste like pasta. It’s a muffin all the way, complete with a “can of real blueberries” that you throw into the mix.
If you’re transitioning out of white flour foods into a whole grain extravaganza, the taste may take a wee bit of getting used to. But it’s worth it, so eat on.
There are five muffins left. I’m going to stroll past the kitchen for another peek. I won’t touch. But I’m not promising either.

Hey Muffin Girl,
I’m all for whole grain, and I love blueberry muffins. So I say STOP! Don’t eat any more! I’m coming over there – you know, to help you with your taste testing “work”.
Speaking of work…you use that term pretty loosely, don’t you!

Hmm, I make muffins for my family’s breakfast every Friday morning. I look at it as a “scheduled treat” and knowing we’re having that every Friday morn helps me stay on track. Nice to know I have a whole grain option now.

You know what? I’ve never had a muffin in my life. Cupcakes yes, but muffin no. This might be about to change soon!

Love the opening picture, Yum Yucky!
I will never have a career as a food photographer because as soon as I’m done making something, I’m beyond ready to eat! In fact, I’ve been known to eat with a camera in my hand immediately following a photo shoot.

Lol you are too funny! I haven’t made these yet! They look so good! I so excited about Duncan Hines new line of muffins! I’m glad you stopped eating them because you would have been miserable with your self it you hadn’t.
I think I may need to go out and get some of these. I never use paper liners though. Look how much of the muffin sticks in it such a waste lol!

I am glad to see more whole grain foods, but it is not enough for me personally. I have got to stay away from the sugar too. This might be good for my kids though.

Everything seems to be going towards whole wheat. I wonder if it’s possible to overdose of whole wheat.

Muffins! Aw man, they’re only slightly more resistible than half-melted chocolate cookies, but just barely. There were these crazy cookies at this chocolate store across the street where I worked where they kept them on this heated metal tray so the chocolate within said cookies were always melted, the whole thing drooping warmly in your hand like batter, so perfect on cold days… ok, sorry, end of memory trip. Man, now I want a cookie real bad. Were we discussing muffins? Ack!

I have to be in a muffin mood. I’ve tried these and my family all gave them a thumbs up. Especially the two year old who ate 3. Yes – 3 of them. He could come live with you as Greedy Kid #5!

Great idea, horrible implementation. Taste compared to old version is AWFUL!!! Will never buy again…
I’m not used to whole grains, I hate them
My wife usually loves whole grains, SHE hates them.
Disgusting…

I agree with “angry in georgia”. We have made the old version for years and it was the best muffin ever. Two years ago I went out to buy more to bake for all the neighbors. I bought 16 boxes. After the first batch, I knew I’d made a mistake because the muffins were horrible so I tried again. Next batch same thing. Just horrible. My kids tried it and would not try again. Anyone who finds these muffins good obviously never had good food to begin with.
