Healthy Hippie Natural Food Store

Are you a tofu-loving tree hugger who thinks green thoughts and wears special sandals? Do you love Ezekiel bread, almond butter, and other organic fanfare?
Even if you don’t answer “YES” to all of these questions, you may still have hippie tendencies. You need the Healthy Hippie Natural Food Store.
Healthy Hippie, Happy Hippie
I think I’m turning hippie, but is it starting to show? Be honest now, okay? The first “sign” was when I tried to use the regular grocery store for normal people. But I got the cold shoulder.
Since I’m brand new to Trader Joe’s Healthy Hippie Natural Food Store, I’ve only caught on to Luna Bars, organic granola, and Edamame. I need all my fellow natural food lovers to show me around the store for a grand tour.
What else should I be buying that’s healthy and delicious? Leave a comment for Josie and other emerging hippies. Tell us what needs to be on our grocery list.

ahhhhh! TJs has so many awesome goodies- just bananas flattened, all of their nut butters, their grain/lentil mixtures, refried black beans (heaven!), their gluten free granola, their granola bars, their flatbreads (these are my favorite), I could go on forever

No Trader Joe’s here. No health food store here. No good grocery store here.
But, that’s okay! Because I still find healthy stuff at my regular Kroger. It’s not just that extra special stuff you find at TJ’s!

OMG, LOVE that hippie look! A good Halloween costume too!
What to buy??? What NOT to buy is the question!!! They have so much to buy! BUT, their Greek yogurt is very reasonable, the veggies, the nuts, the breads (best price I have found for Ezekiel bread), the frozen fruits, peanut butter & all kinds of nut butters, the spices.. Josie, I can go on & on! I go to TJ’s once a week & I want to buy everything!

I live in a Whole Paycheck town, not a Trader Joe’s town….but according to your definition, I am a hippie.
And, I’ll tell you what…my hair looked a lot like your afro pictured here when I was in HS.
A few comments:
-Ezekiel bread makes killer french toast
- Buy some dates (wink, wink)
- There are a lot of great foods at these types of stores, but don’t be fooled…they are not all “healthy” or “low calorie”

I love the peace pendant! I live in the birthplace of Whole Foods and not a TJ’s in sight. One of the things I loved when I’ve visited in other cities is the dried fruit. It’s great in homemade granola which is so easy to make. And my daughter likes to snack on dried berries, they are easy to carry snacks.

First, can you put that right fist up in the air! XD Love it.
all hippies need some jasmine tea, incense, and a sitar. they can sip some jasmine tear while burning incense and strumming on their sitar. at least that’s the image i have in mind….

T.J.’s has this stuff called “Ends & Pieces”, It’s different kinds of fruit put together in sheets used for fruit fillings and such, but the stuff in the package is the parts that were cut off the ends of the fruit sheets. It’s high in fiber and easy to bring along for a quick snack.
Also T.J.’s greek yogurt is delish and they have a greek kalamata olive hummus that I love, love, love!

I’m a trader Joe’s veteran. I usually stop in to get the $2.99 wine, pizza dough, salsa, chicken sausage, yogurt, trail mix and anything else that catches my eye. I pretty much love everything they have!

Oh, TJ’s! Where the wine is $1.99 (yay CA!), the packs of chocolate bars are less than $2, and the olive oil is $3.99. Yes, TJ’s. The land of plenty for less.
