Taste Test: Special K Protein Meal Bars

“The Hungry Beast within is searching for Special K Protein Meal Bars.”
The Hungry Beast was unleashed in the region of my taste buds and stomach, and now the monster within is feigning for more Special K Protein Meal Bars. A chocolate, peanut butter, and crisp rice combo might seem as mundane and familiar as 60 minutes on the treadmill, but Special K’s Chocolate Peanut Butter extravanganza cannot be left untasted.
They’re marketed as a meal, not a snack, and make the claim that you’ll “feel fuller longer”. Each chocolate covered bar is dense, and not only quenches hunger pangs, but also doubles as a tasty, low calorie option to give your sweet tooth a smack down. Whether you eat it as a meal or a snack, you also benefit from 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. I can eat these almost everyday with zero guilt.
There’s plenty of protein bars on the market and you can always concoct your own, but I suggest you have some fun, pretend you’re eating a Whatchamacallit (minus the caramel), and take your protein dipped in chocolate with a ka-pow! of peanut butter goodness courtesy of Special K. You can also try Chocolatey Chip, Strawberries, and Double Chocolate varieties and explore more high protein foods.
Now excuse me, please. I’ve got a beast to feed.

Great 411! I rarely buy protein bars because I like to make them on my own (btw, thanks for the link to some new recipes). That being said, when I travel, I always like to stash away protein bars in my bag so it’s good to have a recommendation like this. Thanks, YY!

I love these things. I have one everyday! They are the best tasting protein bar for the price! You can get 24 bars at BJ’s for $17 and change!

Yep, I get that same package at BJ’s. But I don’t want the Double Chocolate.
