Taste Test: Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Bars

First came Batman & Robin. Then, Tom & Jerry. But have you caught on to the latest dynamic duo? It's Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bars.

Candy
bar lovers, prepare to be converted by this nutty granola mix of rolled oats,
crisp rice, wheat flakes, and yogurt
powder covered in sweet glaze with a bottom-dipped coating.

Take
a bite for a blissfully chewy experience of slightly salty nuts (huh?),
followed by a sweet chaser of dipped coating delight. It's a definite
change of pace from the "blah, blah, blah" of granola bar eating to
satisfy nut lovers and convert nut haters.

My variety
pack contained the Peanut Granola Bar dipped in peanut butter coating
and the Pecan Granola Bar dipped in nut butter coating. Other varieties
in the Sweet & Salty line include Almond, Cashew, and Roasted Mixed
Nut.  

Note: Don't read the nutrition label if you boycott absurd phrases like High Fructose Corny Syrup ("corny" is typo, but lets just
go with it).

Health-hater
Husband – The Peanut Bar reminds me of a Payday candy bar with its sweet
& salty taste and peanut butter creaminess, but it's more of a
nougat creaminess, not traditional peanut butter. The Pecan Bar tastes
like Butter Pecan ice cream. This one is for dessert, not breakfast.
Give it to your kids instead of a candy bar.


Greedy Kid #2 – The peanut butter and nut butter coatings set it apart. 

Greedy Kid #3 - It tastes like ice cream on top of a honey bun. (Translation? It's sweet.)
