Taste Test: Lean Cuisine Linguine Carbonara
July 6th, 2009 • 9 Comments | Leave a Comment »
Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about! Lean Cuisine is hereby redeemed from its Pasta Romano with Bacon catastrophe and has come back strong with new Linguine Carbonara. Ooo-wee!
I’m a sucker for creamy noodles dishes, and this one’s a keeper. You get a decent helping for 300 calories. It’s a mix of smokey bacon flavor, crisp peas, red peppers, onions, basil, and other spices intertwined in a Parmesan and Asiago sauce atop a generous bed of linguine noodles. It’s awesome flavor and I’m hungry for more. The noodles are a bit soft and overdone, but no matter about that. The dish is excellent and the ever-so-mushy noodle offense is worthy of instantaneous forgiveness.
Linguine Carbonara is filling and has a wonderful aftertaste that may tempt you into greedy speed eating, but take it slow and enjoy every tasty morsel. It’s so abundantly flavorful that Josie the Salt Freak didn’t require the shake-shake of the salt shaker. It’s one of those meals I predict will sell out quickly whenever it’s on sale, so pick it up, try it out, and stock up whenever you can. As a matter of fact, on my very next visit to the store I was ticked off with all the selfish shoppers before me who didn’t care to leave behind one measly package of Linguine Cabonara. I’m on a hunt for more.
“Burp”….oh, excuse me.

Lean Cuisines aren’t that bad when you’re in a pinch. If you need a quick lunch or dinner, they’re kinda perfect!

Wow! I’ve just found this site. I’m from England and I wish there was a site like this over here (i don’t even know where to start looking). However bad you might think you have it, we have even less choice of low calorie foods here!

I’ve got Health-hater husband on the Lean Cuisine train. He’s lost a pant size so far. (without working out)

I enjoy this flavor, but I usually get the chicken carbonara instead. Just because I feel like the added protein helps keep me full longer. But overall I think I prefer this one.

I just ate this again yesterday and my fridge is stacked! It’s so good and I ate it so fast (greediness) that I forgot to taste the flavors. Ooops!
