Sometimes my intentions for an awesome workout sucks wind when my kids start whining and harassing me. Then I get to the office and intend for a lunchtime fitness extravaganza, but I get lazy busy and can't get out.
But I've just solved my problem and you can too! If you suck wind, are harassed, or just plain 'ole lazy, you can still get fit.
Office Stairwell Climb
Every hour, climb your office building's stairwell one time (but please don't trip up the steps). You'll be huffing and puffing for fat burning cardio, and shaping your legs (quads, hamstring, calves) and booty muscles.
My office has 4 flights of stairs for a total of 59 stairs. If I climb them once, say, every 7 hours, I'll have climbed 28 flights for a total of 413 stairs. Give yourself a rest day in between Stairwell Workouts and expect to deal with a bit of DOMS, but don't whine about it. Be tough!
How about you? How many steps can you climb at *your* office? My condolences for your non-participation if you do not have stairs at work.

Great workout! And like Kristi, you can find stairs anywhere.. just be safe!
I do the StepMill at the gym.. it is torture but man, it works the legs, butt & cardio!!!!!
You go Josie!
Great idea. Stairs are a killer workout that can be done almost anywhere and at no cost. BTW saw your comment over at MizFit’s site I am with you on that Veggie girl she looks down right sick.
at my old office job I always climbed the stairs, gosh it was so hard and I would hate it but I loved it at the same time. Such a good work.
and I had no idea Veggie Girl has “Crohn’s”(um.. dont know what that is so I’m about to look it up..) but I always thought she looked “sickly” too. See I’m a vegetarian too, and I don’t have that “look” My mom is actually all “raw” and she’s the prettiest hottest mom I’ve ever seen. no joke, check her out at http://thehealthygreenchef.blogspot.com/ seriously just scroll down, see the pretty blonde? yeah that’s my mom, no sickly looking stuff going on and she’s a raw foodie, more hardcore than a vegan. So yeah… I don’t “get” the sickly look.
But anyway, those are my thoughts on, that.
But kudos on the stairs workout!
This is replacement comment for the one that I deleted. It’s come to my attention that VeggieGirl has Crohn’s and someone emailed to tell me that my comment about her appearance was inappropriate.
No offense taken by the slap on the wrist, yet I’m coming from the standpoint of most Vegans I’ve encountered who have the exact same appearance as VeggieGirl. This leads me to believe its not generally a healthy way of life.
For the record, I also know someone with Crohn’s and have personally donated to the cause.
Afterwork update…649 stairs climbed today! And I just woke up from a nap, so the stairs are shaping my booty AND kicking it too. HA!
I just checked it out! She’s one hot momma!
