If you're in the market for that stuffed, bloated, overfed sensation
that will make your fat cells swell, it's time to head on over to
Domino's Pizza for their new Bread Bowl Pastas. Now you can have your
pasta…and eat the bowl too.
I
scoured the Internet for Domino's official nutrition information,
including their own website, but
I came up short. So I contacted the company directly and they quickly
responded with Bread Bowl Nutrition Facts. Here's the short version:
Colossal Calorie Count
Warning! Calories listed by Dominos are for one serving, but there are two servings in every Pasta Bread Bowl. If you're feeling Greedy or refuse to share, then double the numbers for the entire meal.
- Pasta Primavera: 670 calories per serving (1,340 for entire meal)
- Chicken Alfredo: 700 calories per serving (1,400 for entire meal)
- Three Cheese Mac-N-Cheese: 730 calories per serving (1,460 for entire meal)
- Italian Sausage Marinara: 730 calories per serving (1,460 for entire meal)
- Chicken Carbonara: 740 calories per serving (1,480 for entire meal)
…and don't forget to add in a greasy appetizer, soda, and dessert!
Domino's Pasta Bread Bowls sound damn good, but I refuse to commit fitness suicide for the sake of adding them to the Taste Test
Directory. This is merely a public service announcement should you dare
to venture into the world of the forbidden. Proceed with caution! Prices start at $5.99.

due to being diabetic, anything with bread or pasta in it i try to just steer clear from due to carb/calorie counts. This does not surprise me.
sad, but most would just eat this as a little appetizer, and continue on with more eats and treats, topping it off with a regular soda. *ugh* i feel sick and tired just looking at it and thinking about it!! lol

Holy crap!!! Well, I must say, they look like they are going to tempt many but for that calorie count! I can only imagine what the fat & carb count is…. heart attack waiting to happen and at a good price, unfortunately!
Wow, thanks for this! While I do not have a need for pasta bowls now, I will for sure scarf down a few of these this fall when I am walking back and forth to class daily. My energy expenditure is pretty high when my main mode of transportation is my feet. 2-3 of these a week will definitely come in handy.
Talk about feeling sick afterwards, ugh.
I thought about you when I found the calorie content. You’re about the only fit person I know that has a free pass to eat as much as you’d like! Have enough for me too!
So, I ordered it because it was coupon . Large unlimited Pizza with bread bowl for under 10. I made the pizza healthy and tasted the pasta bread bowl. I have to say its tasty, but I had only 1/4 of it and I feel stuffed. And its really amazing that they haven’t put the nutritional info for it on their site!!
Thank you for this.
ugh..I don’t think they look appealing. I always liked Pizza Hut growing up better than Dominos.
Dude you need to read the .pdf more carefully. The calories listed are for one serving. The pasta breadbowls contain two servings. Pasta alone in a dish is 1 serving.
I’m still going to eat it.
Dude! You’re right. I’ve updated to make that more clear. So now the news just got worse.
hahahaha! lmao (I knew you would)
Hi Josie,
Nice site. Someone linked me to you because I too wrote about these scary bread bowls. I just wanted to point out that the nutrition info you listed above is just for the bowl. You have to then add in the calories and fat for the actual pasta! It comes out to something like 2,000 calories and 80 grams of fat for the whole shebang. They got sneaky in those PDFs (good for you for tracking those down!) and listed the pasta separately from the bowl. The best bet would be to eat the pasta and throw the bowl away if you are looking to stay “healthy.” Ciao from an American in Italy! Italians would fall over if you tried to serve them something like this.

Hand tossed dough is one of the ingredients listed for the calories I refer to. The Carbonara Pasta Bowl for example:
Hand tossed dough, Penne Pasta, Alfredo Sauce, Chicken, etc etc.
So it’s already include in the calorie count. But I’ve listed it by serving – 2 servings in each bowl, so multiply by 2 if you’re eating the whole thing and it does come in at almost 2,000 calories. Yuck!
I also found it disturbing that they put chicken in the marinara sauce and in alfredo sauce. Why would anyone do that? Pizza should be vegetarian – until some people add the meat toppings.
I got one today, and honestly, the bread is not that great. I ended up eating just the pasta part and like 3 bites of the bread.
It’s good, but I definitely would never end up actually buying it. The free sample was way more than enough.
Thanks for finding the nutritional information. One of my pet peeves is when something is marketed as a single serving but the calories are posted with a tiny note that it’s actually more than a single serving …
They are damn good! (Better than Bertoli pastas) The numbers you list do not match the site you provided. Also, the website you provided only lists the servings as 1 per bowl.
Sure the numbers match. Their info is tricky and confusing to read. Pasta in a dish lists one serving, but pasta in a bread bowl has 2 servings, yet only lists calorie content for 1 serving, as if you’re only eating 1/2 the bowl. Tricky.
Thanks for breaking this new product down. File it in the “I know that can’t be healthy” folder. I figured the bowl had to come in around 1500 calories…I just saw the commercial and had to find the nutrition information to confirm my initial thoughts. I’m waiting for the pasta bread bowl with lots of cheese and some extra chunks of potato along with the other ingredients to complete a white flour/starch fest. And they should add a garlic-butter sauce to the crust. –I am totally kidding, I hope I don’t sound too sarcastic, but I can’t believe Dominos would mix bread and pasta so blatantly.
Hey thanks for posting that it is amazing how many calories you can consume without even realizing it.
Found your page on twitter.

Thank you for the information. Im eating now thier cabonara and good to know I should stop where Iam at…lol. I have also tried the make your own..I go with spinach, mushrooms and feta and I order without the bowl. The pasta is great but the bread bowl is the downside. I just tried my make your own without the bowl tonight and it is great. And recently getting braces and changing my food sizes to ease my teeth,,has not only reminded me how to eat better …but the 15lbs I shed in four weeks feels great too!
I just ate one of these. The whole damn thing. And it was delicious.
NO one said you had to eat a whole one at one meal – everything in moderation!!! You can still enjoy them, just split between 2 people or save some for another meal. I know guys who can’t eat a whole one – they are very filling and YUMMY!!!
Thanks for the info! I’m probably going to try it (probably just once) anyway. I’ve been curious since the commercial came out because I have a particular love for bread bowls (usually with soup inside). At least now I know what I’m getting myself into and I can log it into my calorie count and then sit on the stationary bike through an entire House marathon.
Thanks for sharing this. I got a flier for these pasta bowls and couldn’t wait to find out just how bad they are for you. And to make the whole calorie load that much worse, there’s trans fat in it… Gross!
I love these things! But I always take my pizza cutter and cut them into 4ths. For 4 days, I have lunch and it only cost me around 7$. It’s great
I had 1/4 of the Chicken Carbonara bread bowl for dinner tonight. Very filling! Cost me 8 points for Weight Watchers, but it was worth it. I can’t see sitting down and eating a whole one of these. You could split one between two hearty eaters, or 4 ways for lighter appetites.
Thanks for the nutrition information, they don’t have it on their site yet, and WW doesn’t have it yet either.
I saw the ad for those bread bowls and I searched for any info on the calories, fat and carb content. Thanks for all your research. I think we all knew it was going to have a ton of fat and calories. Thanks for getting the word out there!
These bowls do have a ton of calories, but they’re also pretty big. I bought one yesterday and could only finish half of it. It’s equal to about 2-3 meals for me. Just because the bowl comes as one unit of food doesn’t mean it has to be eaten as one serving. After eating about 700 calories you should start to get full and realize that you do have the option to stop eating and save some for tomorrow. Don’t blame Domino’s for making you obese.
I ordered one of these this weekend. It was disgusting. Waaaay to rich for my tastes (lately). I could only eat about 1/3 of it. It didn’t taste very good either, but I hadn’t eaten all day.
Did your diabetes take you eyesight or are you just into four digits on the scale? A little appetizer? There is as much food in one of these bowls as a medium pizza, which no one, save the morbidly obese, would think of as anything other than a main course meal to be eaten with at most one very small, non breaded, side dish. Many people wouldn’t even be able to finish hon of these bowls. I don’t claim this is healthy, but if your claim is that everyone is so gluttonous as to eat more after this, then that is completely outside the issue of these pasta bowls. They are meant to be a meal and indeed do live up to that ideal.
i wish i had read this before i split one with my brother today
We got our first pasta bowls tonight. Primavera for the 25 year old daughter(and mother of a 7 month old), three cheese mac for the lady of the house, and chicken carbonara for me. I am surprised the calorie content is so high, as I felt they are way more bread than main course, although the oil/butter under the bread bowl was a warning sigh. Kind of blew my wanting to stay under 2000 calories for the day. I ate mine, and I am fighting against finishing off my wife’s leftover half of her three cheese here at 12:30 am. I am 6 feet tall and weigh a shade under 200(and few people believe I weigh that much), so I am not exactly a sumo wrestler, and I had no trouble whatsoever eating mine.
All in all, they taste like the breadsticks, only more of it with some pasta thrown in. Beware the come on price. The stores all have signs with 5.99 in the window, but the only one that is 5.99 is the mac and cheese. I can buy a pack of mac and cheese, and pour it over a fresh French loaf from Albertsons or Sam’s for under two bucks. The others are 7.99, so our little quick takeout was $24 for bread and pasta.
i would still eat it.
I had this for lunch today and I have to say, i couldn’t finish it. It was very good but way too much for one person. Especially during the summer!!! The cake was amazing. I would have to say its worth the 300-something cals. But like everything else, it needs to been eaten in moderation.
I just wanted to point out the carbohydrate contents: there are almost two hundred carbohydrates in one bowl/pasta combo.
That PDF was a great score. I knew I wasn’t going to ever order one of these, but wow, what a shocking confirmation of that.
I finished a chicken alfredo one, one of their new greasy sandwiches and half a 12″ pizza no problem. Exercise daily and bulk up to the point of having a BMR at 3500 calories and its no problem.
I think they are delicious and I have certainly tried to eat a whole one before. And although I wasn’t successful, I will likely try again, sometimes in the future!!! Despite best efforts, closest I’ve come is about 2/3 of one for dinner one night. But I totally ate the other 1/3 the following day for lunch
DUDE!!!!!! everyone says they look gross and are so bad for you but OMFG just thinking of them makes my mouth water theyre so good!! when i think of dominos i dont think or want to try anything new- just pizza- but bcuz my boyfriend worked there he made me try one… i will never eat pizza again!!! chicken alfredo is what i ALWAYS ALWAYS order!! plus… calories?!?! does anyone realize how much is in ONE slice of pizza??!!? ALOT more then u think…
the bread bowls are worth every dollar… <33333
my favorite part- the dough on the iside of the bowl is super soft & socked up some of the sauce…
yummmmm….
well- there’s no hurt in trying one, and i reallay think you will like it… so why not do something diff when u go to dominos for once??
Holy COW! Shouldn’t they let you know before advertising as a certain calorie count? That’s like two days of weight waters points for me! I can fudge a day..but double the calories– gotta stay away from these things!
